Clan Wars Herald

Clan Wars Herald is the Discord bot of the Clan Wars mod for Valheim. It mirrors the clans of a game server into a Discord server: a role and private channels per clan, a public war log, raid alerts and the season result. It is run by the author of Clan Wars as a hosted service. By adding the bot to a Discord server, or by linking a character to a Discord account, you accept the following.

What is stored

• For each Discord server that added the bot: its id and name, the game servers it connected, their world ids and names, the channel and role ids the bot created, its settings, and a hash of each game server's key.
• For each game server: the clans (tag, name, colours, emblem), their members (character id, character name, rank, online or not) and alliances, as the game server reports them.
• Clan events as the game reports them: clans founded and disbanded, members joining, leaving or kicked, rank changes, alliances, raids and their results, clan battles, duels, trades, store purchases, season results. Each event names clans and characters, never a position in the world.
• For each person who links a character: their Discord user id and username, the character id and name, when the link was made, and the nickname they had before the bot added a clan tag to it.
• A one-time link code for ten minutes while a link is being made, and a note of accounts that pressed “Not me”.
• Usage counts per game server per day, for abuse limits.

Never stored: where anything is in the game world, Discord messages people write, or anything from Discord servers the bot is not in.

How long

• Events are deleted after one year.
• A person's link and Discord id are deleted when they unlink, when they leave the Discord server, or when an admin uses /cw forget on them. Past events keep only the character name.
• Everything belonging to a Discord server is deleted 30 days after the bot is removed from it.

Who can see it

Administrators of a Discord server can read every channel in it, clan channels included, as on any Discord server. The host of the bot can read the stored data of every Discord server it serves, and uses that access only to run the service and to help with support.

Your choices

• Linking a character is optional. Without it you still count in your clan in the game; you only miss the clan's Discord channels.
• You can unlink at any time from the game's clan panel or with the My link button in Discord.
• A Discord server admin can remove the bot at any time; its data goes 30 days later.

Terms

• The service is provided as it is, without a promise of availability. When it is down, games are not affected; Discord catches up afterwards.
• Do not use the service to harass people, to flood it, or to connect game servers you do not run. The host may pause or remove a Discord server for abuse.
• The bot is closed source and may be changed or discontinued. Notices are posted to each Discord server's admin channel.
